Hi,
I like your site and I now really want to go to India and visit a lot of this great places. I found a photo which looks a lot like this. I can't confirm it because I've never been there but it might help. On this page http://www.indien-reise.com/german/Ladakh.htm is a Picture of a monch standing high next to a balustrade which is as high as his knees. Name of the place is Spituk.
